LTFRB Chairman Visits Caraga, Meets Stakeholders

LTFRB Chairman Atty. Martin B. Delgra visited the LTFRB Caraga Regional Office on March 8, 2021 to meet the chairpersons of various transport service cooperatives and corporations in Caraga, inspect modern units for various UV Express routes prior to the launching, and discuss with the employees significant developments and targets on the agency’s projects and programs.
Chairman Delgra held a press conference to provide an array of communications to the public to enlighten them on the PUV Modernization Program, Direct Cash Subsidy, and Service Contracting Program.
The LTFRB Chairman conveyed the utmost commitment of the Duterte administration to transform the public land transportation system into a more efficient, reliable, convenient, and safe one.

Also during the press conference, Chairman Delgra personally awarded the Certificates of Commendation to Mr. Edgar A. Mejias and Mr. Edwin S. Tina-an, the bus driver and conductor of Bachelor Express Inc. (BEI), who helped the victims of Tropical Storm Auring in Surigao del Sur in the course of their evacuation. The driver and conductor, who were just plying their bus in their route in Surigao del Sur, offered to transport the evacuees to the evacuation centers.
Chairman Delgra emphasized that this noble and voluntary act is worth emulating to their fellow drivers and conductors.
Meanwhile, Chairman Delgra inspected the nine (9) modern Class III units of Agusan Sur Transport Service Cooperative (AGSURTRANSCO). These units, which will be the first ones to serve the Agusan del Sur areas, are scheduled to be launched on March 10, 2020 in Bayugan City, Agusan del Sur.
In the evening, Chairman Delgra met with the chairpersons of the various transport service cooperatives and corporations to discuss their developments on the PUV Modernization Program, particularly on their loan application and its status.
Since most of the cooperatives’ common concern was on the approval of their loan application, Chairman Delgra talked to the Manager of the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) to discern what was really hindering their approval.

LTFRB Chairman reiterated that his visit to Caraga was an unplanned one. He, however, expressed that he wanted to utilize the time to talk and meet with the stakeholders to get feedbacks in the ground on the implementation of their various programs.
